Met with Jim Jacobs “Jake” of Pete and Jake’s fame in the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California to autograph some posters and magazine and the Danbury Mint “California Kid” car box.

Met with Manuel Reyes the flame job painter of the actual car in 1973, and stopped back by So Cal Speed Shop to visit Pete Chapouris and JImmy Shine to finalize some posters and magazine autographs.

After YEARS of wanting to see the actual car, I finally had that chance.
The “California Kid”, is at the NHRA museum in Pomona California until June of 2009.
Although moved around occasionally, it’s sitting next to Jake’s Coupe, the Super Bell Coupe in these pictures behind the So-Cal display as you walk in the front doors.
Thanks to Jason Slover for the trivia on the “Kid” and My own Danbury Mint die-cast replica and friendship.
